This guide handles the Taming the Beast quest chain from the point just before Thotar gives you a taming Rod for your Dire Mottled Boar in Razor Hill. Thotar provides you with a number of 3 taming rods, every one is different and lets you tame beasts in the next order: Dire Mottled Boar, Surf Crawler and eventually an Armored Scorpid.

When you have completed the taming Component of the Quest chain, you need to head to Orgrimmar and talk to Ormak news Grimshot within the Valley of Honor so that you can unlock your pet handling skills: Tame Beast; Feed Pet; Revive Pet; and Beast Training.

Finally, do not forget to go to the Pet Trainer and get the Pet abilities that you need to give to your companion pet.
